THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS

With the first substantial snowfall since October expected this weekend, officials and village staff are preparing street services to address ice and snow on Ridgewood's roads.

Compared to the unexpected pre-Halloween weekend snowstorm, which caused widespread street closings and power outages, expectations are that this weekend's snow will be much less severe. Current forecasts place the total accumulation between 2 and 5 inches, with snowfall expected to begin late Friday night and continue into Saturday, ending in the afternoon.

Sounds like the same person posting over and over. Same bad grammar. Too much for a coincidence...just sayin'...

It's 29 degrees now and it will get colder overnight.

The roads need to get salted, sanded, etc.

I'm just saying.

Oh yeah, Paramus Road heading towards Linwood was in hideous condition at 3PM.

The village crews did a good job today, especially considering how understaffed they are.

My observations of private contractors supplementing the Village employees: Early predawn village sander, then a preliminary plow job by a private contracter, then a final curb to curb plow by the private contractor after the snow stopped. Good job and an intelligent management of resources.
Suggestion: call these contractors back to help with leaf removal next year!!!!!

they did use these contractors to help for a bit.but the price was very high.

8:40, to answer your question; obviously you do(care).

My point was that someone is trying to make a big to-do about nothing. There wasn't a lot of snow and it was dealt with. I do agree that 8:00's "hideous" comment was a bit melodramatic. Actually, come to think of it, you and I seem to agree on how the village handled the snow, so why pick at me? I drove 350 miles yesterday in that mess and no one heard me complaining.

now I under stand you must of seen a hell of a lot of things.

from what I herd most of us feel that the village snow crews did a good job.some of the towns next to us did not.
